BONNERS FERRY— Family Fun Night at the Boundary County Fair drew a large number of participants and audience alike. The stands were packed with people cheering on the competitors in horseback competitions, such as the flag and keyhole races, and the children’s competitions, from the Sack Race to the Chicken and Duck Scramble.
The Greased Pig Competition took the competitors on a wild ride, when the swift swine made a beeline for the area fence, escaping, with a throng of children hot on his heels. He was quickly returned and the piglet found a new home with the lucky winner.
As the Boundary County Fair drew to a close on Saturday night, Aug, 18, it went out in style. With the smell of barnyard in the air, and children with brightly painted faces, the community left the brightly lit grandstands with smiles on faces, and laugher in the air.
