Cardinal women play to scoreless draw in opener

TUKWILA, Wash. — Riley Klauss hit the crossbar in the first half, then Ellory Ferris hit the left post in the second half for North Idaho College, which played to a 0-0 draw with Clackamas of Oregon City, Ore., in the season opener for both schools at the NWAC friendlies at the Starfire Soccer Complex on Thursday night.
“We controlled the play the whole game,” NIC coach Dan Hogan said. “But we just couldn’t find a way to put the ball in the net. It was a little frustrating to play so well and not get the win.”
Kari Bromley had two saves for NIC, MaKenna McClellean 12 saves for Clackamas.
NIC faces Skagit Valley today at 8 a.m. to conclude the friendlies.
