Timberlake wins
Silver Bracket at
Lewiston tourney
LEWISTON — Timberlake won five of six matches on Saturday en route to capturing the Silver Bracket championship at the Judy Fong Memorial Tournament at Booth Hall.
Timberlake lost to Sandpoint 21-12, 21-18, and defeated Troy 21-16, 21-12 in pool play. Troy beat Sandpoint, forcing a three-way tie, and on the tiebreaker, Timberlake finished third, pushing the Tigers to the Silver Bracket.
There, Timberlake beat Orofino 14-21, 21-11, 15-9, beat Kellogg 25-10, 25-13 and beat St. Maries 21-13, 20-22, 15-11 to reach the championship match, where the Tigers beat Orofino 21-18, 21-19.
Kenzie Dean had 37 kills, 19 digs and 13 aces on the day for Timberlake. McKeeley Tonkin had 76 assists and eight aces, Brooke Jessen 13 kills and six blocks, Ashlyn Mallet 13 kills.
