Glen Marion Chronic, 91, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Memorial services will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Sandpoint at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 with Pastor Tony Nelson officiating. A dessert reception to follow at the Dover Community Hall.

Glen was born on Oct. 1, 1926 in Dover, Idaho, to Hugh and Hazel Chronic. He was raised in Dover with his four older brothers.

Glen attended Sandpoint High School and was drafted into World War II during his senior year along with three of his brothers. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years as a mailman aboard ship in the Philip-pines.

After the war, Glen returned home to Dover and started working for Pack River Lumber Company.

In 1951, Glen attended a grange dance, where he met the love of his life, Joann Smith. One year later on August 10, 1952 they were married. Together they had three daughters, Debbie, Gayla, and Susan. Glen and Joann recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.

Over the years, Glen worked for the Tenex Mill in Dover before transferring to the Colburn Mill where he worked as a millwright until 1975 when he became superintendent until his retirement in 1988.

Glen enjoyed family vacations that always included fishing. He liked shooting trap, hunting, picking huckleberries, golfing, playing softball, and watching his daughters, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren play sports.

He was a member of the Sandpoint Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Joann Chronic of Sandpoint; three daughters, Debbie (George) Paullin of Spokane, Wash., Gayla (Chuck) Roady of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Susan (Lee) Partyka of Spirit Lake, Idaho; a granddaughter, Jen (Justin) Landis; five grandsons, Carson (Karen) Jeffres, Ryan (Laura) Roady, Tyler (Amber) Roady, Chas (Erin) James, and Wil James; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jeanine (Sam) Arrigo of Spokane Wash.; sister-in-law Gerry Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ted, Byron, Don, and Bill Chronic.
