Robert E. Bolkcom, 83

Robert E. Bolkcom passed away on Aug. 19, 2018, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at the age of 83. He was born in a cabin on Kelso Lake to Wayne Bolkcom and Roberta Clark on Aug. 31, 1934. He attended school in Granite, Idaho, and high school in Sandpoint, Idaho, where he met his wife, Lora Irene Roth. They were married 39 years until her death in December of 1993.

Bob was drafted into the Army and they spent two years in the Seattle area and two years reserve. Bob was a truck driver and mechanic and retired in 1991 from N.A. Degerstrom of Spokane, Wash.

In the spring of 1994, Bob met his new friend and love, Barbara Kilborn. They bought a house in Bayview, Idaho, where they lived for 24 years. They were snowbirds and spent their winters in Arizona; they did a lot of ATV riding.

Bob is survived by Barbara; daughter, Tamara Salazar; granddaughter, Andrea Salazar; grandson, Gabriel Salazar; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Smith of Athol, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Clarence and Milton; 19-year-old, Katy Cat; and numerous sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at the Athol Baptist Church, 29145 N. Sylvan Lane, Athol, ID 83801, with coffee and refreshments to follow.
