American Legion Post 129 in Paradise is officially back in full swing after the grand opening of the new building over the July 4 holiday.
Post Commander Darrin King also recently kicked off the first official raffle for the legion since its re-opening.
“Our first raffle was an AR-15 (rifle), and tickets sold out in under two weeks,” he said excitedly.
Since coming back from the ashes after the 2013 fire that took the building, King said that he has been exceedingly happy with the support of locals within the Plains-Paradise area.
With a total of 250 tickets officially sold out last Friday, Aug. 24, King said that the lucky winner will be announced during one of the main rodeo performances at this week’s Sanders County Fair.
“The support for the first raffle was overwhelming. We can’t wait to do it again,” said King.
