Cats swimmers ninth in Kalispell

The Columbia Falls swim team opened its season close to home Saturday as the Wildcats took ninth at the Kalispell Invite.

The boys 200 freestyle had the top finish of the day for the Cats, coming in third with a time of 1:44.79 while Peyton Malmberg was sixth in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:27.64 and Russell Albin was sixth in 100 butterfly at 1:05.84..

Malberg was also eighth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:15.48 and Connor Cheff was 10th at 1:17.78.

C-Falls scored 70 team points to come in ninth while Missoula Hellgate won the meet with 517.5 points. Whitefish, the only other Class A team at the meet, finished fifth with 211 points.

The Cats will be back in action Saturday in Havre.
