EPHRATA — If you live in Ephrata and see a fire truck with flashing lights making its way down your street over the next two days, there is no need to fret. The Ephrata Fire Department is conducting its fifth annual food drive and soliciting donations from locals.

Fire trucks will be going down streets collecting non-perishable food items, which will then be turned over to the Ephrata Food Bank. Locals who want to make a donation are encouraged to look for the flashing lights, listen for sirens and meet firefighters on the street with their donation. Donations can also be dropped off at the Ephrata Fire Department, 800 A St. SE., through Friday.

Firefighters will be going through the northeast and southeast areas of Ephrata today and the northwest and southwest areas of the city on Thursday. For more information visit the fire department or call 509-754-4666.
