Mary was born on Dec. 3, 1924, in Spokane, Wash., to Ralph and Beatrice Lambert. She grew up and attended parochial schools in Spokane. The family later moved to Priest Lake, Idaho. Mary worked for the Old National Bank and the Washington Water Power Company (now Avista) for many years.

Mary married David Wacker in 1971 in Spokane. They made their home in Odessa, WA and later retired to Davenport in 1996. Mary and Dave had a very loving and happy life together. After Dave died, Mary moved to Sandpoint, Idaho.

She was a member of both Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph’s Catholic Churches. Mary was a generous person with a quick wit and a wicked sense of humor, she always liked a good Irish joke. She also enjoyed riding horses, gardening and family gatherings. Her nieces and nephew loved going to her home.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Ted) Ludgate of Edmonds, WA; stepson, Mike (Susan) Wacker of Liberty Lake, WA; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sister, Lola Rainey of Sandpoint, ID; five nieces, Susan Bristol, Sue Smith, Mary Hernvall, Beth Bradbury and Eve Dossey; and one nephew, Dell Hatch. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David Wacker, sister, Patricia Jones, and two brothers, Ralph and Patrick Lambert.

The family wishes to thank her niece, Susan Bristol, for being her guardian and guardian angel. She was there for Mary day and night watching over her.
