MOSES LAKE — A man and woman were busted in Moses Lake on Wednesday in connection with an Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team investigation.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team and Moses Lake officers assisted in the serving of a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 1100 block of East Hill Avenue.
“The bust is the result of a months-long investigation during which operatives made three controlled drug buys from the Hill Avenue home,” explained the sheriff’s office.
The home was raided and INET detectives reportedly recovered methamphetamine, heroin and electronic scales, which were consistent with scales that are used for weighing drugs for sale. INET detectives additionally served a search warrant at storage lockers on Grape Drive in Moses Lake and reportedly recovered electronics that are believed to have been used in trades for drugs.
Arrested in connection with the investigation on Wednesday were Sonia Adamé, 37, and David Cantu, 27. Adamé was booked into the Grant County Jail for suspicion of delivery of drugs in a school zone and possession with intent to deliver drugs in a school zone. Cantu was found to be in possession of meth and he was booked into jail for possession of the drug. The investigation is ongoing and the sheriff’s office says more arrests are pending.
The East Hill Avenue residence is near Lakeview Terrace Elementary and McKenna Reis, communications coordinator for the Moses Lake School District, told the Columbia Basin Herald the school went into a “secure the building mode” and a police officer was on campus as a result of the police activity on Wednesday.
