Dust those shovels off

Coeur d’Alene has gotten a sniff of snow a couple of times, but the real deal could be on its way.

Press meteorologist Randy Mann said Friday he’s tracking storms that could turn our landscape a wintry white.

On Sunday night, he said, there’s a chance for several inches of snow. Then Tuesday night and into Wednesday, as much as a half-foot could fall.

“It’s looking good for a white Christmas right now,” he predicted.

With the Big Day still a couple weeks away, Mann said North Idaho should see more snow with occasional rain mixing in from time to time. But 2019 could usher in bad news for skiers and good tidings for shovel haters.

“After the New Year, we’ll probably get into a pattern with more rain than snow thanks to El Nino,” he said.
