LPOSD $25,362,167 levy is not fair

The LPOSD $25,362,167 levy is not fair — $17.8 million will be paid by property owners not voting for the levy: those voting against, those not voting, and out-of-county owners denied a vote, but who must pay $9.6 million.

LPOSD officers realizes the best lie is a half truth. These hidden half truths are:

A. March vote indicates the will of the people. False. Lowest voter turnout is in March. One recent levy passed, approved by only 15.7 percent of the registered voters.

B. The injustice of denying out-of-county property owners a vote is hidden.

C. News releases hint homeowner exemptions are available to all. False. Much higher taxes are paid by owners with homes held in trusts, and all out-of-county owners.

D. School employees (and spouses), could have comprised 41.9 percent of the 2013 levy yes vote.

E. Ten administrators salaries siphon $2,000,000 off each levy is not told.

My children and grandchildren have been homeschooled or private schooled, yet we are paying over $1,500 a year for public schools which peers test show 90 percent of children from Christian homes adopt a secular world view in school, a world without God. We are compelled to pay for “education” contrary to our religious beliefs.

I don’t feel good about school personnel who instill in students that what they want can be taken out of their neighbor’s pockets. A society lacking individual responsibility is lost.
