BOZEMAN— After scoring a career-high 31 points in Montana State’s 95-90 win over Washington State on Sunday, Bobcat guard Harald Frey earned Big Sky Conference Ready Nutrition Player of the Week honors.
The junior from Oslo, Norway, also logged a career-best 10 assists, along with six rebounds, as MSU earned its first win over a Pac 12 opponent since 2011 and its first against the Cougars since 1973. It was the Big Sky’s initial win over a school from a Power 5 league this season.
Frey scored 18 points before halftime, helping Montana State open a double-digit lead in the first period. He was also important down the stretch, scoring nine of MSU’s 16 points in the final 5:11. He finished 8-for-16 shooting, and either made or assisted on 18 of the team’s 31 field goals. He was also 9-for-12 from the free throw line.
The Big Sky weekly honor was the first of Frey’s career, and he was also named College Sports Madness National Mid-Major and Big Sky Conference Player of the Week.
