SANDPOINT — Fundraising and social media campaigns are underway in the search for a Colorado woman with family ties to Bonner County.

Kelsey Marie Berreth was last seen at a Safeway store near her home in Woodland Park, Colo., on Thanksgiving Day. Her mobile phone pinged a cellular phone tower in Gooding, Idaho, three days after she vanished, Woodland Police Cmdr. Chris Adams told ABC News’ “Good Morning America” on Sunday.

Berreth is a 29-year-old flight instructor and engaged mother of a 1-year-old girl.

The same day a tower picked up Berreth’s phone, she texted her employer, Doss Aviation in Pueblo, Colo., to say that she would not be reporting to work the following week, according to a news report published by the Denver Post. The paper further reported that Berreth texted her fiancé, Patrick Frazee, the same day.

Frazee told investigators he had not seen Berreth since Thanksgiving, when they exchanged custody of their daughter, Woodland Police Chief Miles De Young said at a news conference. Frazee has custody of the child and is cooperating with investigators, the Post reported.

“She’s not the kind that runs off,” the Post quoted Berreth’s mother, Cheryl, as saying during a Monday news conference.“This is completely out of character.”

Cheryl Berreth, who lives in Laclede, reported her daughter missing just after noon on Dec. 2, Woodland Park Police Chief Miles De Young said at the news conference.

When asked whether investigators considered the disappearance suspicious, De Young said, “I have nothing to indicate other than that it is a missing persons case.”

The Sandpoint community, meanwhile, is rallying to raise funds to aid in the search, help the family with travel arrangements to Colorado and other expenses (gofundme.com). There is also a social media effort to raise awareness of the young mother’s disappearance (facebook.com/helpfindkelseyberreth/).

Friends and family are urging those with information about Kelsey Berreth’s whereabouts or disappearance to contact Woodland Police at 719-687-9262.

The Sandpoint Seventh-day Adventist Church, whose congregants include Cheryl and Darrell Berreth, held an hour of prayer for Kelsey Berreth on Sunday and is posting updates to its social media account.
