MRA quartet sets new team record in 200 medley relay

FEDERAL WAY — Noah Heaps, Brett Jorgenson, Cole Lindberg, Zachary Washburn and Jessica Williams of Manta Ray Aquatics participated in the Washington State Senior Championship, a meet filled with tough qualifying times and is attended by teams across the state.

The boys set a new team record in the 200 medley relay with Heaps swimming backstroke, Jorgenson in the breaststroke, Lindberg swimming the butterfly and Washburn in the freestyle. Jorgenson would go on to cut time in his 50 freestyle and drop a whopping 10 seconds in the 200 breaststroke.

Washburn also cut time in his 50 freestyle, making it into finals and taking sixth place overall. Cole Lindberg dropped over a second in his 100 backstroke. He also swam both the 50 and 200 butterfly.

Jessica Williams competed in the 50, 100 and 200 breaststroke while Noah Heaps swam the 50 and 500 freestyle as well as the 50 backstroke. They all competed against the top swimmers from around the state, many of which had just competed at Junior and Senior Nationals.

CLOVIS, Calif. — Manta Ray Aquatics teammates Noah Heaps, 17, and Zachary Washburn, 14, joined 40 other elite swimmers from around the Inland Empire to compete at the Senior Zone Championship swim meet in Clovis, Calif. as part of the IES All-Star Team.
