With cash in hand, Superior school fourth-graders went to local stores for their annual shopping trip for families in need. Mrs. Crabb’s class works to raise funds each year to purchase the gifts that are then donated to the Women in Timber Superior group.
This year, the class raised $670.39 with the help of fellow classmates and several local businesses said Crabb. The class that raised the most money wins and this year it was the second grade with $139.92. The fourth-graders went to the Mineral Pharmacy, Durangos and Castles to shop for gifts. Then Women in Timber wrapped up their annual gift baskets with the presents, and those will be delivered over the holiday by members of the local Lions Club.
“Students learn the value of community service and how shopping locally helps the local economy,” Crabb said about the Friday afternoon shopping trip.
