MOSES LAKE — A change in leadership at two schools in Moses Lake is on the horizon for 2019.
In a letter to Peninsula Elementary School parents Moses Lake School District Superintendent Josh Meek revealed that current Peninsula Principal Sydney Richins will be taking a job at Frontier Middle School as an assistant principal.
“I want to personally thank Mrs. Richins for her dedicated leadership and vision at Peninsula since 2014,” Meek wrote.
Meek said effective Jan. 7 Diana McFaul will be the new interim principal at Peninsula Elementary. McFaul’s most recent principal position was over at Larson Heights Elementary, but she also has experience as an assistant principal and teacher at Chief Moses Middle School.
“I am confident Mrs. McFaul will be a great addition to the Peninsula team,” Meek said.
“You will also notice some changes in personnel in the office and in a classroom. Parents and guardians of students involved with the change of teacher will receive direct communication to follow.”
The MLSD will be conducting a full search for a long-term principal at Peninsula later on in the school year.
