Calling all actors, singers, dancers, and gymnasts to the open call auditions for the musical “Annie”, presented by Growing Dreams Productions, Inc., and Sandpoint High School Mime & Masque.

Performers from age 8-18 are invited to audition on Monday, Jan. 14, and Tuesday, Jan. 15, beginning at 3:15 each day at the Sandpoint High School auditorium. Callbacks, if necessary, will be Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the same time and place. Students are asked to arrive a few minutes early and plan to stay for the entire audition. Be sure to bring snacks and water for your child.

Come prepared with a memorized one-minute monologue. Youth only need audition on one of the days to be considered. Monologue ideas are available on the Growing Dreams Productions Facebook page. Auditions will include performing your monologue, cold reading lines, dancing and singing. The song and the dance for the auditions will be taught during the auditions. Expect to stay for the entire audition as the afternoon will entail both group and individual performances. There are 50-60 roles available, some of which require no singing.

The cast list will be posted on the Growing Dreams Productions, Inc., Facebook page by Thursday, Jan. 17. Rehearsals will begin the following week. Rehearsal specifics will be available with cast list.

Director Jeannie Hunter and her team are excited to produce this classic American favorite. Plucky and optimistic, Orphan Annie captures our hearts and inspires us to sing out loud. Annie will take the stage April 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20. The family show will be a matinee on Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. The rest of the shows will be at 7 p.m. All the shows will be performed at the Sandpoint High School Venishnick Auditorium.

Annie will be directed by Jeannie Hunter, with musical direction by Jon Brownell, stage management by Emma Ferguson, student assistant director by Kirsten Baker, costumes by Angie Aller, and the help of many dedicated parents and volunteers.
