MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man who was reportedly involved in a Moses Lake shooting on Sunday is reportedly missing and believed to be injured from the shooting.

About 3:15 p.m. the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of multiple shots fired between the occupants of two moving vehicles at a public fishing access road at Neppel Road Northeast and Road 10.4 Northeast.

The sheriff’s office reports the driver of one of the involved vehicles, identified as 29-year-old Matthew Low, of Moses Lake, is a suspected shooter in the incident and as of Monday afternoon was unaccounted for and believed to be injured. Low was last spotted in the area of Road D.6 Northeast in the McConihe Flats area. Deputies have reportedly gathered evidence that indicates Low was struck by gunfire.

“Deputies are worried for Lowe’s safety and have been searching the area where he was last seen. It’s unknown if Low is still in the area or if he was driven away from the area,” stated the sheriff’s office in a news release.

The male driver of the other vehicle involved in the incident, identified as 45-year-old Patrick Pearson, of Moses Lake, who is also a suspected shooter, was shot in the arm and transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. Pearson was later released from the hospital and from police custody due to deputies, at the time, not having probable cause to arrest him.

“Overnight, investigators were able to build that probable cause for Pearson’s arrest in connection to this incident,” explained the GCSO. “An ongoing dispute between Pearson and Low is believed to be the reason for the shooting."

Low, who has ties to the Spokane area, is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. Pearson is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds with red hair, but he possibly has a shaved head, and hazel eyes.
