Ephrata Items

-U.S. Army Engineers are here surveying and laying foundation for the Ephrata Airport. They expect to have it completed by Sept. 1 for bids.

-Lester Harris and family, who have been running Blue Lake Resort this summer, left for their home at Baker, Ore.

-Patches Anderson, who has been at McKay Memorial Hospital at Soap Lake suffering from infected sinus is improving and hopes to be home soon.

-Vic Bell is leaving for Alaska Sept. 13.

-Mr. T.J. Cook has sold his hardware store to Gordon Fletcher who has been with the U.S.B.R.

Ladies Aid holds meeting

The Ladies Aid met at the church parlors on Wednesday afternoon, with F.K. Saunders and Mrs. Lola Scott as hostesses. Mrs. A. Guffin spoke on missionary personnel in China. Mrs. E.M. Leland led the devotionals. Piano solo, Mazurka, by Benjamin Goodard, was played by Mrs. Marshall Burress. At the close of the meeting refreshments were served to Mesdames L. E. Rudberg, Threlkeld, Ed Penhallick, O.D. McCoy, L. E. Larsen, A.F. Guffin, W.J. Laing, E.M. Leland, Marshall Burress and Miss Jesse McDonald.
