In today’s digital world, some parents struggle to manage their children’s use of smartphones, personal electronic devices and computers.

To better make sense of technology and the impact it has on developing minds, the Coeur d’Alene School District is screening “Screenagers,” a documentary that offers solutions on how adults can empower kids to best navigate the digital world and find balance in life.

“Lots of kids go home and use technology unsupervised and parents are unsure of what to do about it,” said Seth Deniston, director of technology for the district. “More than anything, this film provides a starting place for those discussions. It behooves us to talk about it. The film provides a balanced look at teenagers and technology.”

On March 7 and 8, Josh Ochs from SmartSocial.com will speak to students at Lake City High School and Coeur d’Alene High School regarding social media use, how it can impact college and career choices, and how to be safe online.
