Davida Jane Rafferty, 78, passed away at her home in Sandpoint, Idaho, surrounded by her family on Friday, Feb 16, 2018.

Davida was born on Oct. 20, 1939, in Spokane, Wash., to J. Kenneth Finley and Jesse Pauline Quarles. She was the youngest of her siblings, which included Kenneth, Lemuel, John “Jack,” and Nancy.

Her family moved to Seattle for a short time before settling in San Bernardino, Calif. It was here that she met her husband Willard (Max). They were married on Sept. 15, 1961.

Davida was an avid bingo player. While in San Bernardino, she played bingo often, usually at San Manuel Casino with her friends. Davida was a collector of kerosene lanterns and you could often find her perusing the antique stores around Southern California. She was the neighborhood mom to many of our friends and family.

In the late 1980s, she moved with her husband to their property on the Upper Pack River Road in Sandpoint, where they lived for almost 30 years. They were part of a group of friends called the Upper Pack Irregulars. She worked at Walmart in Sandpoint for several years, where she was a beloved friend to many.

She loved to play bingo at the VFW Hall in Sandpoint where she and her husband were long-time members. She coordinated bingo at the VFW for decades. Up until very recently she co-ordinated the Bingo Bus to the Coeur d’Alene Casino.

She is survived by her husband, Willard “Max” Rafferty of Sandpoint; her brother, Lemuel and wife Pat Finley of Sequim, Wash.; her sons, David and wife Amy Rafferty of Sandpoint, Maxwell and wife Michelle Rafferty of Hayden, and Kevin and wife Alice Hefner of Phoenix, Ariz.; her grandchildren, Joseph and wife Chrystal Rafferty of Ponderay, Idaho, Sabrina Rafferty of Chandler, Ariz., Calvin Rafferty of Sandpoint, Hailee and husband Isaiah Grey of Sandpoint, Chloe and husband Adam Reynolds of Sandpoint, Luke Rafferty of Hayden, Idaho, Joshua Rafferty of Hayden; Kreg Hefner of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kory Hefner of Phoenix; and her great-grandchildren, Paris Thomas of Chandler, and Emerson, Reuben and Noah Grey of Sandpoint.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
