Nona M. Crichton

Nona M. Crichton, 96, passed on peacefully at her home Feb. 4, 2018. Nona is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Albert James Crichton Jr. and her son David James Crichton. She leaves behind daughters Leona Crichton of Superior, Montana and Kathy Carr of Santa Barbara, California, 9 grandchildren and 21

great-grandchildren.

Nona was born Jennie May Middleton on October 8, 1921 to Lewis & Alice Middleton in Lapeer, MI. She was adopted by her Uncle David Middleton and moved to Multnomah, Oregon where she graduated from High School before moving to California.

Nona traveled extensively on cruises and has circumnavigated the globe twice. Nona was a member of the California Federation of Women’s Club for most of her adult life. While State Safety Chairman she was instrumental in lobbying in Sacramento, CA to get reflectorized license plates and lane reflectors passed into law. Nona also worked with the Braille Institute to transcribe books into braille for the blind. Nona was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Her ashes will be scattered at a later date by her family.

She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
