Armed robber steals cash, safe from store

SCHWANA — A masked man reportedly robbed a Schwana store at gunpoint Monday morning and got away with cash and a safe.
The clerk at Outpost Grocery in Schwana called Grant County deputies about 6 a.m. stating a male who was wearing a ski mask and brandishing a handgun had robbed her. The assailant fled the business with an undisclosed amount of cash and a safe from inside the store.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build. There was no vehicle seen near the business and there were no reported injuries.

Collision kills driver near Quincy
QUINCY — Adams Road near Quincy was closed for about three and a half hours Wednesday afternoon due to a collision between a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. The car’s driver was killed in the crash. The collision occurred at about 12:45 p.m., according to a release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, between Road 5 Northwest and Road 6 Northwest. The driver’s name was withheld pending notification of family members, said Kyle Foreman, GCSO public information officer. The case is still under investigation.
