Plains Police make unexpected drug bust

On Feb. 11, Plains Police Officer Ethan Harvey stopped a 45-year-old Yakima, Washington woman suspected of driving with a suspended license.
Upon further inspection of the vehicle, Harvey found reason to believe there was a need to apply for a search warrant.
He arrested the female driver at 12:45 a.m. that morning at the Town Pump in Plains.
Once granted the search warrant, Harvey searched the vehicle and allegedly apprehended 20 grams of suspected methenphatamine.
The female driver, Reia Elaine Peters, of Yakima, is currently being held in Sanders County Jail. Her vehicle was impounded to the Plains Police impound lot at time of arrest.
She was formally charged with driving while suspended or revoked license with bail set at $285.
There are also several pending charges which include, driving while suspended, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, sale of dangerous drugs and use of property subject to criminal forfeiture.
Determination of further charges will come from the Sanders County Attorney after lab results are returned with definitive results.
