Plains Fire Department gets new equipment

Plains City Fire Department celebrated a successful year of achievements within the department recently at the VFW in Plains.
“We’ve had three fighters join the crew this past year so we are looking really good now,” said Fire Chief Anthony (Tony) Young.
The intimate get-together of crew with their family and friends was a night were not only did they receive new equipment but also a new uniform.
“I want to thank everyone for their support, their hard work throughout the year. I’m looking forward to another great year in 2018 with you all,” said Young.
The Chief then went through and called each fie fighter up to receive their new shirt, hand held digital two-way and pager.
Thanking and recognizing their individual accomplishments with regard to training and also call outs, it was all smiles all night.
After a great presentation with a steak and potato dinner, Chief Young was thrilled he was able to achieve so much through money fundraised during the year as well as specialized grants.
