MOSES LAKE — The Grant County Fair Advisory Committee is looking for volunteers.

According to Fairground Director Mickey Webb, the advisory committee needs three full-time members and two alternates to bring its numbers up to full strength.

“We have four,” Webb said. “We’ve had a couple of people resign for personal reasons, and someone who is nearing the end of their second term.”

The committee meets on the first Thursday of every months and advises the fair director on “various aspects” of the fair, Webb said.

Webb said while he would prefer to have applications from different parts of the county — Mattawa, Royal City, Grand Coulee — to ensure adequate representation, the fair is taking applications from anyone interested and willing to serve.

“We do have Moses Lake members, but being from Moses Lake doesn’t mean you won’t be chosen,” he said.

The positions are unpaid. Anyone interested in being on Fair Advisory Committee can obtain an application from the Grant County website (on the front page click on “Request for Volunteers”) or can call 509-765-3581 for more information.
