NIC Booster Club Luncheon

COEUR d’ALENE — The NIC Booster Club Luncheon scheduled for noon Tuesday has been moved from Outback Steakhouse to Seasons of Coeur d’Alene. Seasons is located at 209 E. Lakeside Ave.

The NIC winter head coaches will speak and provide recaps on their preseason schedules along with a preview of the upcoming NWAC and NJCAA competition. A special NIC Booster Club lunch menu will be provided.

The public is invited to attend the luncheon. The NIC Booster Club meets on the second and last Tuesday of each month at noon at various locations in the community.

Jim Cartisser named interim

coach of CSI volleyball team

TWIN FALLS — The College of Southern Idaho has named assistant coach Jim Cartisser as the new Golden Eagle volleyball interim head coach.

Cartisser replaces his wife, Heidi Cartisser, who died unexpectedly Dec. 19. Jim has assisted Heidi at many stops throughout their volleyball journey, including at CSI since 2011.

“The vision, goals and expectations as well as structure will remain intact,” Cartisser said. “Heidi and I worked on it together. There wasn’t an aspect we both weren’t well-versed in. We had our roles but they were interchangeable. You can’t live and work with someone and not have a complete understanding of all the parts. The product we will put forth we will keep close to what it has been.”

Cartisser is the fourth CSI volleyball head coach in the program’s history. Jan Mittleider was the first coach before the program was dropped for a period of time. She was followed by Ben Stroud and Heidi Cartisser.
