Mary Ann Couser
The gates of heaven joyously welcomed Mary Ann Couser on the evening of Dec. 23, 2017. She is happily reunited with the love of her life, Melvin Everett Couser, and her daughter, Marilyn.
She grew up down the street from Melvin, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and spent most of her married life in the Los Angeles area.
She enjoyed raising her family and working as the office manager at Woodlawn Elementary School in Bell, Calif. Mary and Melvin raised their three children, Marilyn, Joel and Carl, in Lynwood, Calif. She also helped to raise her granddaughter, Faith Normington. Mary is also grandmother to Haley Kumar, Noah Couser and Lindley Lynch. Her great grandchildren are Corey, Madison, and Levi Malberg; Raime, and soon-to-be-born baby Griffitts; James Normington; Melvin and Muru Kumar, and Caleb Couser.
Mary was passionate about her quilting, her gardening, reading long novels and relishing in the growth and accomplishments of her grand and great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind many friends; daughters-in-law, Anne Couser of Coeur d’Alene and Linda Couser of Sequim, Wash.; her dearest, loving, special friends and neighbors for 30 years, the Leong family of Garden Grove, Calif.; and her loving caretaker, Jen Gorringe Lamb of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Our family deeply appreciates the care received at Pacifica Senior Living and Creekside Inn of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” Until we meet again... xoxoxo
Gma GG Mary would want us all to know that our future is in God’s gentle hands, and not to worry because, as she always reminded us, “when it gets closer, it will become clearer.”
