Libby charges back in fourth quarter for win over Eureka

LIBBY — Libby poured in 20 points in the fourth quarter — more than it tallied in the first three combined — to roar from behind and beat a stunned Eureka squad 38-31 on Tuesday night in the Battle of the Kootenai at Libby High School.

Shannon Reny scored a game-high 12 points, nine of which came in the fourth quarter to help Libby complete the comeback. Jayden Winslow added 10 for the Loggers, the only other player to reach double figures in the game.

Cassie Hammack paced the Lions, who led 25-18 after three quarters, with eight points.

Missoula Sentinel 55, Ronan 40

MISSOULA — Micalann McCrea’s 19 points and Ronan’s surge in the fourth quarter weren’t enough to overcome a steady Missoula Sentinel.

Four Spartans scored eight points or more in a balanced offensive effort, led by Lexi Deden’s 12.

Sentinel carried a 33-21 lead into halftime and stretched it to 45-25 after the third quarter.

LIBBY — Libby jumped out to a huge early lead and held onto it in a double-digit win over Eureka in the Battle of the Kootenai.

Ryggs Johnston scored a game-high 15 points for the Loggers, and Jay Beagle added 11.

Libby led 18-3 after the first quarter and 30-9 at the half.

Colton Cooper led Eureka’s four scorers with 13 points.
