Whalley Joe Stephens, 70
Aug. 25, 1947 – Jan. 8, 2018
Whalley Joe Stephens, 70, of Prineville, Ore., and Post Falls, Idaho, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. Born to Harry W. Stephens and Marjorie Irene Whalley on Aug. 25, 1947, in The Dalles, Ore. Whalley grew up in Hood River, Ore., and graduated from Hood River High School in 1965.
Whalley’s sense of humor, smile and great compassion for others earned him space in the hearts of many. As everyone knows he “never met a stranger.” His time was spent traveling the open road when not working on or cruising in classic cars. He served our country proudly in the Army Signal Corps, and was a very proud and loud Vietnam vet!
Whalley was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Marjorie Stephens; his sister, Cathy Durham; his son, Jimmy Clayton; and Mama and Papa G.
Whalley is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carol; his children, Roy (Mary), Debra Jo (Beau), Don (Tiana), Bill (April), Tim, Joe (Rachelle), Olivia (Donavan) and Heather; plus many grandchildren and great-grandchildren!
Whalley will be missed, but never forgotten!
A celebration of life service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13. 2018, at the VFW Post 3603, 1225 E. Third Ave., Post Falls. There will also be a graveside service in Portland, Ore., in the next few weeks.
