A dream chocolate

Mary Jo Kringas ate herself thin, losing more than 100 pounds.

One chocolate bar at a time.

Her secret? She invented ChocoPerfection, a line of sugar free chocolate bars that appeal to the taste buds and the waistline.

“As I was developing and sampling from my first batches, I found that I was losing weight,” said Kringas, inventor of Chocoperfection, a sugar free confection. “You can eat a lot of  ChocoPerfection and still lose a lot of weight.  The best part is that it tastes really good.”

Some people love chocolate, but for others it's obsession.

“I am a chocoholic,” said Kringas. “I was looking for an out of the box solution.”

The North Idaho woman has struggled with being overweight most of her life. At 15, she weighed over 400 pounds. Twenty years of dieting and two stomach staple procedures later, Kringas still weighed almost 300 pounds as she continued her addiction to sweets.

"When I stopped feeling guilty for eating my chocolate at the same time I was losing weight, I knew I was finally onto something," she said.  "Diabetes and obesity run in my family, so this truly helped me."

Kringas grew up in a candy store. She knew the chemistry behind sweet confections and began experimenting with alternatives.

So what's in ChocoPerfection?

Smooth European chocolate, but it's sweetened from plants — not the traditional sweeteners in most sugar free chocolates called maltitol or maltodextrin, which actually raise blood sugar levels.

“It took about a year to create the ChocoPerfection bar,” said Kringas, who  has an MBA from the University of Chicago.  “I have made sure that no sugar or gluten ingredients can be in

ChocoPerfection. It's not a secret recipe. It's all on the label.”

ChocoPerfection is a Keto chocolate and falls under the Keto diet. The ketogenic diet is an eating strategy that utilizes zero sugar, low carbohydrate and high fat foods to force to the body to burn fat rather than carbohydrates for fuel. The keto diet is also used to prevent cancer, is known as the anti-aging diet and it is more useful than medicines for some forms of childhood epilepsy.

ChocoPerfection sugar free chocolate  provides an  indulgent treat for anyone who is tempted by sugar-laden desserts around every corner.  Diabetics especially face a daily challenge to control their blood sugar levels.  One sweet treat can spike a person's blood sugar into dangerous territory. Choosing ChocoPerfection instead tastes great and stabilizes blood sugars.

The ChocoPerfection 50g bar contains 14 grams of fiber, very few net carbs and absolutely no sugar. This is critical for those seeking to lose weight because sugar is what causes the body to produce excess insulin, store fat and gain weight.

“I use plants as healthy sweeteners for ChocoPerfection,”  Kringas said. “ChocoPerfection tastes like real chocolate. Only it doesn't increase sugar cravings or spike insulin levels. If you are a chocoholic like me, ChocoPerfection is an outright miracle."
