Coulee City man dies in collision

SOAP LAKE — A Coulee City man died in a collision north of Soap Lake Thursday morning.

About 9:35 a.m. Harold Chadwick, 78, of Coulee City, was driving a 1996 Ford F-150 pickup truck south on state Route 17, about 11 miles north of Soap Lake, when he reportedly lost control of the truck. The Ford reportedly rotated clockwise, went off the west embankment, rolled several times and came to a rest on its top halfway submerged in Lake Lenore, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Chadwick's passenger, Connie Chadwick, 74, of Coulee City, survived the collision and was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. Harold Chadwick died at the scene of the collision. The patrol reports the official cause of the collision was Harold Chadwick driving too fast for conditions.
