The Selkirk Association and its members made Christmas merry this past year for a number of local children — all thanks to a generous community and local businesses who hosted The Giving Tree trees.

“Selkirk Association of Realtors would like to thank our generous community for purchasing gifts for 191 area children who might not have had a Christmas without their participation and giving spirit,” the association said in a statement.

Also receiving thanks were Chris Chambers “for playing the ‘sleigh driver’ all these years” as well as the local businesses where The Giving Tree trees were located. Those business include Larson’s (Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry), Starbucks (Sandpoint and Ponderay), Bonner General Health, Trinity at City Beach, Winter Ridge, Sandpoint West Athletic Club, X-Hale Pilates, Cedar Day Spa, Potlatch #1 Federal Credit Union, Sandpoint Super Drug, and The Klondyk.

Selkirk Association of Realtors volunteers include Julie Nolan, Carrie LaGrace, Stephanie Rief, Susan Pantier, Rollie Baker, Marla Zener, Kris Kingsland and Jennifer Berkey.
