SAFE: Blessed by generosity

Members of Silver Angels for the Elderly, SAFE, were blessed with smiles, laughs and gratitude from the residents we visited at two local rehabs during Christmas. Our primary focus is to let those who may not have any visitors know that they are special and not forgotten.

The generosity of caring individuals allowed us to give gifts to residents and caregivers. Thanks to Candlelight Christian Fellowship, Affinity at Coeur d’Alene, Empire Airlines, Coeur d’Alene Pet Resort, Post Falls Hospice and Hayden Thrift Stores, Thrivent and caring individuals for their gifts.

Kathy Hostetter, Wendy Werner, Jeanne MacConnell, Peggy Lemm, Barbara Richardson, Peggy Lemm, Sandra Sutton, Steve and Theresa Vicks, Norma Baldridge and Walt Cole, along with many others gave their time and efforts to collect, sort, package, deliver gifts and help with the party. Without these folks, this would not have been possible. A special thanks to our “Santa,” Dave Sheldon, who gave each resident a chance to reminisce the excitement of Christmas past.

Above all, SAFE feels blessed that our loving God gives us the ability to share His love with others. Our hopes are that God will equip us so we may continue to bring joy to the lonely.
