Kootenai Health Foundation announced the addition of Heidi Rogers, Ed.D., as a member of the board of directors. Rogers began serving a three-year term on Wednesday, Jan. 10.
For nearly 30 years, Rogers has been working together with community leaders in diverse areas to shape education and take measures to support educators — financially, professionally, and technically. Since 2002, Rogers has been CEO of Northwest Council for Computer Education (NCCE), an educational nonprofit with more than 4,000 members. Nationally recognized for her leadership skills as well as her accomplishments in educational technology, in 2016 Rogers was highlighted as a “Hero in Education” by Microsoft. Rogers has served on Apple’s National K-12 Advisory Board and was honored as one of Apple’s first Distinguished Educators.
A well-known community leader and avid volunteer, Rogers is past president of six nonprofits including the Coeur d’Alene Rotary Club, Coeur d’Alene Rotary Foundation, the EXCEL Foundation, Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), NCCE, and the International Society of Technology Education (ISTE). She is also an active member of the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce Executive Board.
Rogers has been a community event volunteer with a variety of local nonprofits including Coeur d’Alene Summer Theater, Coeur d’Alene Library Foundation Board, Coeur d’Irish, the EXCEL Foundation, Kootenai Health Foundation’s Festival of Trees, Hospice of North Idaho, Idaho Community Foundation, and Wine, Women and Shoes.
Rogers holds both doctorate and master’s degrees in education from Oklahoma State University. For fun, she enjoys playing golf, boating on Lake Coeur d’Alene, and spending time with her son, Weston, and his wife, Coryelle.
Rogers joins current board directors Becky McIntire Boifeuillet, Mike Chapman, Steve Griffitts, Darin Hayes, Georgianne Jessen, Eve Knudtsen, Chris Meyer, Chad Murray, Randy Oaks, Sarah Pierce, Sue Thilo and Peter Wagstaff.
