Participants with the Clark Fork Runners Club aren’t afraid of a little cold and snow as they had some fun racing in the New Year.

The 19th Annual New Year’s Fun Run was held in Thompson Falls with novice through to seasoned runners, even some with their canine friends joined in.

Sarah Naegeli said that due to the recent winter storm that passed though just before the new year as well as the holiday season travels, they were a little light on numbers but it didn’t stop a good sized group of runners showing up.

“It was a fun day just as it always is for the runners,” said Naegeli.

“There was the 2k and 5k runs, with runners running into the wind at the start of the race,” she added.

“We’re hoping next year we will get a really good sized turnout being that the race will hit the big 2-0,” she continued to say.

There is no doubt that rain, hail or shine the Clark Fork Runners club are more than just road runners and take advantage of all the seasons Montana sets before them.
