Lady Badgers fall to Timberlake

SPIRIT LAKE — A spirited comeback effort wasn’t enough as the Bonners Ferry girls’ basketball team traveled to Spirit Lake Tuesday, Jan. 9, to face Timberlake, the two-time defending 3A state champions.
The Tigers led by as much as 16 points late in the third, but the Lady Badgers rallied to cut that lead to four points with less the four minutes remaining in the game. Timberlake recovered and was able to hold off Bonners Ferry the rest of the way.
Miranda Wenk led the Badgers, scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds before fouling out late in the game. Kadi Bateman contributed 12 points and Jerzie Pluid had 10 rebounds.

The Lady Badgers now have a 1-1 record in the Intermountain League and are 11-3 overall.
Bonners Ferry varsity teams will host the Post Falls JV teams Thursday, Jan. 18, with the girls tip-off at 5:30 and the boys at 7. The Lady Badgers will have senior day on Saturday, Jan. 20 as they host Wallace in a make-up game. JV will start at noon with the varsity to follow at 1:30.

Lady Badgers struggle at Timberlake
SPIRIT LAKE — Taryn Soumas scored 17 points, including four 3-pointers, as she led the Timberlake Tigers to a 66-37 victory over the visiting Badgers on Wednesday, Jan. 8. Blayre Jeffs, a 6-foot-5 post, added 14 points for the Tigers, who are ranked #2 in the Idaho 3A state rankings.
Lady Badgers second at districts, fall to Teton in state play-in game
It was a busy week of travel for the Badgers as they played four away games in six days while traveling 1,442 miles.
