MOSES LAKE — A felon is facing federal charges after three illegally possessed guns were found in his vehicle last week.
The Moses Lake Police Department partnered with the Northwest Violent Offender Task Force last week to find 24-year-old Isaac Bruno Avila. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Corrections joined in the hunt to locate Avila and confiscate his illegally possessed guns.
Avila, who had a DOC warrant out for his arrest, was arrested during a traffic stop and taken into custody. Officers reportedly located evidence that guns and ammunition were inside Avila’s vehicle, which was a violation of the terms of his probation.
A search warrant was served on Avila’s car and officers reportedly located an Ak-47 type rifle, a SKS rifle and a shotgun. Avila has been booked into the Grant County Jail. MLPD Capt. Mike Williams says the case has been referred to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm for consideration of federal charges.
