'Importance of Being Earnest' coming to LCHS

COEUR d’ALENE — Oscar Wilde’s most famous play “The Importance of Being Earnest” is in production at Lake City High School.
Lake City’s Troupe de Wolfe will perform the play at 7 p.m. Feb. 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17 in the school’s auditorium, 6101 Ramsey Road, Coeur d’Alene.
Directed by Lake City theater teacher and director Sandra S. Seaton, the play is set in London and the English countryside during the late 19th century.
“‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ is both a whimsical romantic comedy and a sharp witted satire of Victorian society,” said the announcement of the production.
The story follows two young, hapless gentlemen, Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrief, under the guise of a “fictitious” brother named Ernest as they seek the love of the delightful Gwendolyn and an attractive ward, Cecily. All goes well until both couples end up at the same country estate.
The student cast includes: Algernon Moncrief, Evan Schwaab; Jack Worthing, Malachi Tran; Gwendolen Fairfax, Ricki Fehrenbacher; Cecily Cardew, Katy Gribbin; Lady Bracknell, Emma Wagner; Miss Prism, Cheyenne Miller; Canon Chausable, Noah Coll; Lane, Sebastian Goetz; Merriman, Anthony Kirby; and Footman, Parker Henley.
Working with Seaton on the production are: Stage Manager- Kyra O’Reilly; Assistant Stage Manager-Darian Juvan; Scenic Design- Sebastian Goetz; Light Design-Michael McGiveney and Sam Selby; Costume Design-Ricki Fehrenbacher; Sound Design-Nina Judd; Make-up Design-Kylie Desjarlais; and Hair Design-Sarena Kaschmitter.
