New occupants planned for renovated Wiggett Building

Now called the Wiggett Building as Wiggett Antiques was the last business there (10 years ago), the original Montgomery Ward building (built in the 1920s) at Fourth and Lakeside has been purchased and is being completely reconstructed inside and out.
The four levels will increase to 27,571 square feet with several retail and office suites available for lease. Monte Miller of Miller Stauffer Architects is the project architect, and T. LaRiviere Equipment & Excavation in the general contractor.
With completion next summer, new occupants will include Welch Comer Engineers, the Murray Group (www.murraygr.com), Seejepp Creative (www.seejepp.com) and Widmyer Corp., the leasing agency at 208-664-5081 and www.bwrealestatelic.com. We’ll have details on these businesses as it gets close to opening.
Faithful Chocolates opens in Riverbend
Offering specialty chocolates, unique containers and a large selection of Christian books and gifts, Faithful Chocolates has opened at 4009 Riverbend Commerce Park (formerly the Outlet Mall) on the west side of Post Falls.
Pick chocolates out of the cases or give the gift of chocolate with custom packaging that can say I Love You, Get Well, Happy Birthday, Thank You. The store offers Spokandy, Jelly Belly and a selection of gifts, cups, journals, devotionals, Bibles, T-shirts and military and Christian hats and ties. Fundraising and custom packaging are available.
Owner Nadine Sharpe said the store will be open extra hours before Valentine’s Day. January hours are noon to 5 p.m. weekdays. Hours from Feb. 1-16 will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Check www.faithfulchocolates.org.

Paladin Martial Arts, Fitness on Sherman
With personal fitness training, martial arts and self-defense instruction, Paladin Martial Arts & Fitness has opened at 1524 E. Sherman Ave.
Owner Nathan Cools offers individual and group instruction with fitness, self-defense, weapon retention, Kyokushinkay karate (for kids and adults) and knife, stick and firearm training.

Hometown Property Management on Fourth Street
With service to owners and tenants of residential real estate, Hometown Property Management has opened at 3202 N. Fourth St. in Coeur d’Alene. The building previously was home to Lundin’s Violins and Betty & Ed’s Flowers.

- Body Mechanics with physical therapy and massage will open Feb. 1 at 1522 E. Sherman Ave.
- Zips Drive-In will open in April where Burger Express had been at 715 E. Sherman. Yes, Zips had been there earlier.
- Willamette Valley Bank is expanding into the former Subway area of the building at 704 E. Sherman.
- Armor Antiques has closed at 1116 E. Sherman.
- Quackers Convenience Corner will be in the northeast corner of Fourth and Prairie.
- Just Baked bakery and cafe will be with Andrus Fine Art at 6491 E. Seltice Way.
- Honey Co. restaurant will open in the spring where The Cellar was downtown on Sherman.
- Stem Cell Centers will be moving from Post Falls to Coeur d’Alene.
- Watch for several changes at Fairground Center on Government Way. Details soon.
- Radicci Restaurant will open in February where Danaan’s Deli was in Hayden.
- Ellenbecker Eye Clinic will move next summer from 2140 Riverstone Drive to nearby 2020. Coeur d’Alene Plastic Surgery will move at 1875 N. Lakewood Drive.
- Renovation is under way at the former Kelly’s Pub building at 726 N. Fourth St. Next spring it will be a breakfast-lunch eatery called Ten/6.
- Badass Backyard Brewing will be in Suite C at 317 E. Coeur d’Alene Ave. Pizza & Pretzels will open in Silver Lake Mall.
- On Appleway watch for Firehouse Subs across from Winco. A second tenant is possible. ICCU will build a new place near Winco.
- Staybridge Suites hotel is under construction in Riverstone.
- Openings coming on Fourth Street include the Relic Moon offering piercing and body jewelry and the White Pine coffee place.
- New construction off Mullan Avenue will be a Coachman Auto Body. And neighboring Kootenai Motors is moving to Hayden
- A new Asian eatery will be where the Kynrede Cafe was removed in Hayden. Watch for El Taco Loco off Canfield Ave.
- A 20-unit apartment building will be built at 3855 N. Hudson Circle (near Lowe’s).
- Equality of the sexes is a big issue now. It’s interesting that we say “Oh, boy!” and “Man....” and “You guys” instead of the corresponding female terms.
