BONNERS FERRY — Bonners Ferry boys basketball started slowly, but used a big second quarter to earn a 61-49 win over the visiting Post Falls JV team on Jan. 18.
“This was a good game for us, we played hard and shot very well. I think we are starting to transition into a more consistent team,” said coach Andy Rice. “Post Falls has a great program and I was glad we got the opportunity to play them.”
With two upcoming away games — Friday, Jan. 26 at Wallace High School, and Saturday, Jan. 27 at Priest River — the boys are hoping last week’s performance carries over.
“Hopefully we can take this momentum into our games this weekend against Wallace and Priest River,” said Rice. “It’s getting towards the end of the season and I think guys are starting to realize the importance of each game. It would be nice if we are playing our best basketball when districts roll around.”
The next home game is Wednesday, Jan. 31 against Kellogg.
