Last year was busy for one local non profit, as they raised funds to bring events to their grounds.
Polson Fairgrounds, Inc., hosted multiple events at the Polson Fairgrounds that included the Mission Mountain Rodeo, the Boys and Girls Club Mud Run, Smokin’ on the River BBQ Battle and Aber Day concert.
Polson Fairgrounds are located at 320 Regatta Road in Polson, covering approximately 47 acres.
Toward the end of 2017, the 16 PFI board members sent a letter to sponsors, sharing the wrap up.
The highlight of the year was the addition of a stage, the Regatta Shoreline ampitheatre, at the fairgrounds overlooking Flathead River which allowed the grounds to host concerts.
Located at the fairgrounds is the arena, which is used daily by youth and adult equestrians in addition to travelers who pass through the area with livestock.
Board members also shared that since 2012, PFI has raised $290,500.
“This figure does not even include the thousands of hours of donated labor or the annual maintenance costs of approximately $15,000 per year,” PFI stated in the letter.
Members also stated that a recent feasibility study showed that activities in Polson can support an event center, which is a goal of PFI.
