BIGFORK — Bigfork hoops standout Jaime Berg has signed to play basketball at Montana Tech, becoming the second Valkyrie — and second Berg sister — to earn a spot at the next level under fourth-year head coach Jami Grende.

Berg is averaging more than 17 points and seven rebounds per game and has been instrumental in guiding Bigfork to a 10-1 start and the No. 3 spot in the 406mtsports.com Class B rankings.

“She is so deserving to continue her basketball career, because she works so darn hard,” Grende said.

Lana Berg, Jaime’s sister, is a sophomore forward for North Idaho College.

“She’s always ready to go,” Grende said of the younger Berg. “She’s got the best attitude. Very coachable. It’s no wonder that a college would want somebody like her on the roster.”
