COEUR d’ALENE — Sophomores Thomas Stevenson (157) and Levi Perry (184) shined with pins for North Idaho College in a 31-15 dual victory over NAIA Simon Fraser at Christianson Gymnasium on Thursday.
“Our sophomores definitely did a good job tonight with both Thomas and Levi getting pin in their final home matches,” NIC coach Pat Whitcomb said. “Damian (Trujillo, who lost 3-1 in overtime at 285) lost by a point to a kid that’s beaten him three times by one point each. It was a good night for us and there’s something to be said about the momentum. It was loud in the gym and what a wrestling match is supposed to be.”
NIC travels to wrestle Eastern Oregon tonight in La Grande starting at 7 p.m. to conclude the regular season.
