Quackers Convenience Corner opens at Fourth/Prairie

Many restaurant and deli food items, to-go options, in-house seating, tap-beer, wine and convenience store items are offered at Quackers Convenience Corner opening Tuesday at 705 E. Prairie (northeast corner with Fourth Street).
Seating is at tables and the bar with TV available. Options include breakfast items (with duck and chicken farm eggs), sandwiches, single-serve pizza, salads, lefse, Norwegian flatbreads, fountain drinks and specialty coffees.
Owners Jakki and Will East-Peters offer hours of 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, until 8 p.m. Fridays and 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Phone 208-719-0581.
Rusty Star, Salvage 7 open in Riverbend
Two new stores, The Rusty Star and Salvage 7, will open Saturday in Riverbend Commerce Park in the southeast building of the former Factory Outlet Mall off I-90 on the west side of Post Falls. More places are coming.
The Rusty Star is a home decor store specializing in custom-made wood signs, flags and other interior vintage goods. Owners are Laura (mom) and Samantha (daughter) Garcia with sisters Shannon Lee and Catherine Garcia as managers and designers. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 to 7 p.m. Saturdays. Salvage 7 is an upscale vintage boutique with 30 vendors offering items that are old, chippy, worn, faded, raggedy, rustic, farm-chic, industrial, handcrafted, upscale, vintage and mid-century designed with the theme of repurpose, restyle, rescue, refurbish, recycle, build, create, paint and transform.
Owner Shelly Eppers offers classes in refurbishing, restoring, painting and more. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays. Phone 208-773-4041.
AVID CrossFit opens in Hayden
Providing quality coaching in functional fitness, AVID CrossFit opened last week at 190 W. Hayden Ave.
With a class-based training atmosphere, the prescribed programming focuses on functional movements and consistency for tools to achieve goals and confront unknown challenges. Braden Mowry is owner and head coach.

Downdraft Brewing off Seltice Way
New owners Ginger and Josh Cantamessa have opened Downdraft Brewing in Suite A in the southwest corner of Treaty Rock Center at 418 W. Seltice Way in Post Falls.
Beers include several options and guest and rotating taps. Also available are Selkirk Abbey’s Guilt imperial coffee porter and Northern Cross Stout. Taproom hours are 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 2 to 8 p.m. Saturdays. Phone 208-262-4233.

- Sherman Hardware at 1010 E. Sherman has extended its closing sale to the end of February. The Cause Church will move into that building.

- Zips Drive-In will open in April where Burger Express had been at 715 E. Sherman. Yes, Zips had been there earlier.
- One Place Church will move into the space being renovated where Peak Fitness was in Hayden between Hayden Cinema and the newer Peak Fitness building.
- Just Baked bakery and cafe will be with Andrus Fine Art at 6491 E. Seltice Way.
- Honey Co. restaurant will open in the spring where The Cellar was downtown on Sherman.
- Stem Cell Centers will be moving from Post Falls to Coeur d’Alene.
- Radicci Restaurant will open in February where Danaan’s Deli was in Hayden.
- Ellenbecker Eye Clinic will move next summer from 2140 Riverstone Drive to nearby 2020. Coeur d’Alene Plastic Surgery will move at 1875 N. Lakewood Drive.
- Renovation is underway at the former Kelly’s Pub building at 726 N. Fourth St. Next spring it will be a breakfast-lunch eatery called Ten/6.
- Badass Backyard Brewing will be in Suite C at 317 E. Coeur d’Alene Ave. Pizza & Pretzels will open in Silver Lake Mall.
- ICCU is building a new place near Winco.
- Staybridge Suites hotel is under construction in Riverstone with a $10 million building permit.
- Openings coming on Fourth Street include the Relic Moon offering piercing and body jewelry and the White Pine coffee place.
- New construction off Mullan Avenue will be a Coachman Auto Body. And neighboring Kootenai Motors is moving to Hayden
- A new Asian eatery will be where the Kynrede Cafe was removed in Hayden. Watch for El Taco Loco off Canfield Avenue.
