Whitefish has created a city steering committee that will develop a joint tourism master plan between the city and the Whitefish Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The WCVB first came to the city with the idea of creating a tourism mast plan last spring. Dylan Boyle, executive director for the WCVB, said then that the plan would help the city plan for the future by creating a clear vision for how tourism can grow, but still maintain the quality of life in Whitefish.

Jen Frandsen, an owner of Old Town Creative, which serves as the creative agency for the WCVB, told Council that creating the committee will allow steps to begin to get a budget before the city and the WCVB for the project.

The committee is expected to consist of nine member including representatives from the city, a representative from Whitefish Mountain Resort, a member with transportation infrastructure expertise and at-large members.
