A former Columbia Falls man and woman were killed July 7 in a single-vehicle accident on Montana 28 between Plains and Hot Springs.

The Sanders County coroner’s office identified them as Jessica Marie Timlick, 35, and Gavin Andrew Armstrong Jr., 35. The couple had moved to Hot Springs and lived together.

According to Montana Highway Patrol, Timlick was driving the vehicle over the speed limit when she came failed to negotiate a turn near milemarker 10.

She lost control of the vehicle, veered to the left into a rock wall, crossed the highway before coming to rest on the right hand side of the road in a smaller rock face.

Armstrong was ejected from the vehicle.

Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt. The crash remains under investigation by Highway Patrol.
