Plains Lions Club member Marvin Tanner loaded eight hours of love into building some benches for moms and dads to enjoy while at the kids pool in Plains.

Monday morning, June 9, Tanner — along with fellow Lions President Duane Highcrane — presented the benches to the Lions Kids wading pool.

“I drove past and all the parents just seemed to have no where to sit. So with some extra lumber I got a pattern off the internet and built four benches for everyone to enjoy,” said Tanner.

The lumber was donated by Thompson Falls TRL, accompanied by some monetary donations from Sanders County locals Doug Bratz and Alvin Amundson to bring the idea and creations to life.

The next project the Plains Lions Club all aim for is a new shed to help with storage and better coverage of the pool pumps.
