MOSES LAKE — Rappers KJ52 and Aaron Cole and singers Yvonne Munoz and Christian Cuevas will be among the featured acts at the Fireshed contemporary Christian music concert scheduled for Friday and Saturday at McCosh Park. The first acts take the stage at 2 p.m., with the final performers at 8 p.m. each day.
The concert will be sponsored by Sendero Life Church, Moses Lake. Admission is free both days. “Come here and have fun and listen to great music,” said Freddie Prado of Sendero.
The music kicks off at 2 p.m. Friday with the Sendero worship team. The Fireshed Youth Band will perform at 3:15 p.m. Friday. (Breaks are scheduled between each performer.)
David Perez will take the stage at 4 p.m. Friday. Perez, of Wapato, is a singer and songwriter who will be singing original music along with popular contemporary worship songs.
Yvonne Munoz will perform an hour set, starting at 6 p.m. The Texas-born Munoz is a popular artist in Latin America, Prado said. Her repertoire includes contemporary Christian songs.
Rapper Aaron Cole is Friday’s musical finale, at 7:30 p.m. Cole has been recording since he was four years of age, when his dad wrote a rap song, “Jesus is the Rock,” for him.
The evening ends with a showing of the film “The Greatest Showman” at 9 p.m. in the park.
The Sendero worship teams opens Saturday’s show with a 2 p.m. performance. They will be followed by James McTague at 3 p.m. McTague is the worship leader at the Moses Lake Presbyterian Church.
The New Vintage Worship group follows at 4 p.m. The group is from the New Vintage Church, Richland, and plays original music as well as contemporary Christian music. The group recently released a three-song album, “This is Love,” and is working on a full-length album.
Rapper KJ-52 takes the stage at 5:45 p.m. He has won six Dove Awards, sold more than 750,000 songs, and performed with a number of pop artists.
Christian Cuevas winds up the concert at 8 p.m. Cuevas was a finalist on the 11th season of the popular television series “The Voice” and has been working on a solo career.
Prado said church leaders had the idea of sponsoring a concert for young people, and applied for a grant from the Ministry Branch Fund, “thinking, maybe,” he said. “Our church ended up receiving the grant.” The grant is for one year, and the church’s goal is to build on the initial concert and make it an annual event, he said.

More park improvements planned for Royal City in ‘26
ROYAL CITY — Lions Park in Royal City now has a soccer field, so city officials will be working on the next phase of improvements in 2026. The first phase of upgrades to Apple Avenue also is scheduled for 2026, and both are among the projects reflected in the city’s 2026 budget. The budget was approved by Royal City City Council members Tuesday.

Qualifying irrigation-only wells approved by Moses Lake council
MOSES LAKE — Public agencies and semi-public organizations will be allowed to drill individual wells to water fields and other publicly accessible green spaces under the terms of an ordinance approved by the Moses Lake City Council at the last meeting of 2025. Council members have been discussing the ordinance for about three months, following a meeting with Moses Lake School District officials.
